Yesteryear Collection

This model of a Garrett Steam Wagon uses authentic advertisements taken from contemporary photographs.
Manufacturers would often decorate their wagons in this way as it enabled them to show off their products as a moving advertisement; a move made necessary by the intense competition from companies such as Foden, Atkinson and Yorkshire.

The model celebrates the 6th MICA European Convention, which was held on 24th October 1998 at the Hotel Mercure, Amsterdam.

This fully approved Code 2 model was made with the permission of Matchbox Collectibles, Mattel, in 1998 and was limited to a production run not to exceed 1,000 models.

Two of these Code 2 issues were released with "All Roads to the Garrett are Smooth Roads" tampo. Both were released with lime green paintwork but can have either a lime green or a grey roof.
This model was released in 1998 as part of a gift set made by the MICA model club in a M-6 Major Pack consisting of the 1929 Garrett Steam Wagon (Y37) and the 1928 Austin 7 Van (Y65), code 2 approved models with numbered certificate and was a limited edition of 200.
